In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.
Psalm 5:3 NIV
Originally called Our Lady’s Bug, these fascinating little insects are considered by some to be symbols of good luck. In addition, ladybugs can be viewed as blessings from God and reminders of the power of prayer. During the Middle Ages a plague of small insects attacked crops and threatened Europe with starvation. People prayed to the Virgin Mary (Our Lady), and soon a cloud of ladybugs arrived and miraculously saved the crops. These cute creatures still help protect crops, and they remind us to expect God to answer our prayers.
